On The Spot Internet can assist companies in running online advertising campaigns with the objective of
targeting specific audiences. As part of an online advertising campaign we can:
 |
Work with you to develop animated banners to use in the campaign |
 |
Research suitable sites on which to advertise depending on the audience
you wish to target (e.g. newspapers, search engines, etc) |
 |
Negotiate advertising rates and placements on your behalf |
 |
Set up tracking mechanisms so that the pull through effects of each
banner advert can be measured |
Advertising rates would vary from site to site, and within sites depending on page positioning. However,
most sites operate on a Cost Per Thousand page impression basis, and some will require a minimum number of page impression purchases.
The length of time the banner advert is displayed on the site will depend on the popularity of the site, and could just be a matter of
days in very busy sites. However, most sites should allow different banner designs to be rotated within the same banner slot, helping to
reduce over exposure.
According to the Standards and Practices Committee of the IAB, the standard size for a full banner is 468 x 60 pixels. Half banners run
234 x 60 pixels and square button ads are 125 x 125 pixels. Having developed a graphic specific to your company it can be re-used for a
number of campaigns.
Design Recommendations
It is important to consider the effect of design on the Click Through Ration (CTR) of a banner advertisement.
The diagram below shows that half, short and vertical banners account for an 18% share of impressions while all button sizes account for
a 45% share. This suggests that a mix of buttons and full banners is the best approach.
