Plenty of companies will sell a small business some software and call that a relationship. We have spent nearly thirty years doing the opposite: knowing what a customer runs, why it matters and who to ring when something breaks at four on a Friday.
Automation is genuinely good at the dull half of this work — monitoring, chasing, reminding, drafting, reporting. It is no good at all at understanding your business. So we are using it for the first thing, and keeping people for the second.
