Nothing unlawful
Do not use our services to store, publish or send anything that breaks UK law, including material that is fraudulent, defamatory, threatening or harassing, that promotes violence or hatred, or that exploits children.
Email and messaging
- Only send marketing emails and texts to people who have agreed to receive them, or who are customers and can opt out, as UK law requires. Every marketing message must say who it is from and include a working way to unsubscribe.
- Do not use bought or scraped address lists.
- Do not send phishing messages, forge message headers or pretend to be someone else.
Security
- Do not distribute malware or host phishing pages.
- Do not try to break into, scan or test systems or accounts that are not yours, including ours, without written permission.
- Keep your passwords private, keep the software you install up to date, and tell us straight away if you think an account has been compromised.
Other people's rights
Only publish content you have the right to use. Do not infringe copyright, trade marks or other people's privacy, and do not register domain names to trade on someone else's name or brand.
Fair use of shared resources
Our hosting and email run on shared systems. Do not use them in a way that degrades the service for others, for example mining cryptocurrency, running open mail relays or proxies, or sending very large volumes of email. If your needs grow, we will talk to you about a service that fits.
What happens if this policy is broken
If we believe a service is being used against this policy we may remove content, block email, suspend the service or, for serious or repeated breaches, end it. Where we can, we will contact you first and give you the chance to put things right. We may report illegal activity to the police or other authorities.
Reporting abuse
To report spam, phishing or other abuse involving a service we provide, email info@onthespot.co.uk or ring 0141 883 2333, with as much detail as you can, such as the web address or a copy of the message with its headers.
